Associate in Science - Early Childhood Education

Location(s): Pensacola Campus


The Associate in Science degree in Early Childhood Education provides students with a broad foundation in all areas of early childhood education and prepares students to seek employment in a childcare center, preschool program, or a home child care center. Each student is strongly encouraged to consult an advisor prior to course registration.

The Associate in Science degree in Early Childhood Education includes Technical Certificates in:

Term 1 (15 Credit Hours)


EEC 1100  and DEP 2001  require field experience or service learning. Check course descriptions for more information.

Term 2 (15 Credit Hours)


Completing DEP 2001 , EEC 1100 , EEC 2521 , and EEC 2940C  fulfills the 120-hour curriculum requirement for FCCPC/CDA credential.

Completing DEP 2001 , EEC 1100 , EEC 2500 , and EEC 2940C  fulfills the Infant/Toddler Specialization CCC.

Completing DEP 2001 , EEC 1100 , EEC 1312 , and EEC 1601  fulfills the Early Childhood Teacher CCC.

EEC 2521  and EEC 2940C  require field experience or service learning. Check course descriptions for more information.

Term 3 (15 Credit Hours)


Completing DEP 2001 , EEC 1100 , EEC 1312 , and EEC 1601  fulfills the Childcare Center Management CCC.

Completing DEP 2001 , EEC 1601 , EEX 1600 , and EEX 2010  fulfills the Early Childhood Inclusion Specialist CCC.

EDF 1005  require field experience or service learning. Check course descriptions for more information.

Term 4 (15 Credit Hours)


Completing DEP 2001 , EEC 1100 , EEC 1312 ,  EEC 1601 , EEC 2401 , EEC 2500 , EEC 2521 , EEC 2940C , EEX 1600 , EEX 2010  and 2 of the following approved electives (EEC 2734 , EDF 1005 , EDF 2085 , or EME 2040 ) fulfills the Early Childhood Development CCC.
