DES 2833C - Expanded Functions II


Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into the Dental Assisting Technology and Management program and completion of the program’s semester one and two core courses, with a C or better.
Corequisite(s): None
The student will perform expanded functions permitted by the Florida State Board of Dentistry. This course includes, but it’s not limited to, suture removal, insert and remove dressing from alveolar sockets in post-operative osteitis, packing and removing retraction cord, fabricating provisional restorations intra-orally, cementing temporary crowns and bridges with temporary cement, removing excess cement from dental restorations and appliances, placing and removing periodontal dressings.
