PTN 1131L - Applied Pharmacy Practice Lab
Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into the Pharmacy Technician program and completion of the program’s semester one and two core courses, with a C or better. Corequisite(s): PTN 1131 Provides practical hands-on instruction of the technical procedures required for preparing and dispensing drugs in the hospital and retail settings in a laboratory environment. The student will practice and perform skills such as drug packaging and labeling, non-sterile compounding, IV admixture using aseptic technique, maintaining patient profiles, and typing and filling drug orders. Upon completion, the student will be able to perform basic supervised dispensing techniques in a variety of pharmacy settings.
