CLT 1500 - Classical Mythology


Prerequisite(s): Placement at the college level or completion of the appropriate exit-level developmental course(s) with a grade of C or better.
Corequisite(s): None
Explores the mythological heritage of Western cultures, focusing on the major deities and heroes of Greco-Roman mythology and the Germanic tribes. Through literature, visual, and performing arts, students will study how classical mythology has been thematically used by artists and poets from ancient Greece to the present. The course includes lectures, correlated readings, and illustrations of representative works from each period. 
Semester Hours: 3 credit hours
Semester Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer

Course Designations: College Transfer. Meets AA General Education Electives, Humanities requirement.
