EDF 1005 - Introduction to the Teaching Profession
Prerequisite(s): Placement at the college level or completion of the appropriate exit-level developmental course(s) with a grade of C or better. Corequisite(s): None Surveys historical, sociological, and philosophical foundations of education, including topics such as governance, finance, and policy, as well as the legal, moral, and ethical issues in the teaching profession. Provides information on the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices, Florida Standards, and the Professional Educator Competencies. Requires the student to complete a minimum of 15 hours of field-based experience with children and youth in schools or similar settings.
